Quicken For Mac 2007 Download Lion Compatible Download Rating: 7,8/10 2602 votes

Quicken 2007 for Lion has been released for download (or, possibly, even CD delivery) on the Intuit site. I have downloaded the $14.99 program and successfully installed it on my Lion 2011 MacBook Air. In a VERY BRIEF test it worked fine. Generated memorized reports. If you find that subscription to Quicken for Mac does not meet your needs, the alternative is to obtain and run QM2007 Lion Compatible (LC), which will run on Mac OS X 10.6.8 to 10.14 Mojave (so far.). Mar 20, 2015  Quicken 2007 for Mac OS X Lion is a re-engineered version of Quicken Mac 2007 that will work on OS X 10.7. This version is ideal for Quicken for Mac customers who use Apple's latest operating system OS X Lion. New Quicken customers should choose Quicken Essentials for Mac to get started. Last December, Intuit announced that it would be developing a version of its Quicken 2007 for Mac software compatible with OS X Lion, targeting 'early spring' for a release. Quicken 2007 has remained a popular option for users of personal finance software despite its age, as Intuit opted to deploy a stripped-down Quicken Essentials for Mac in 2010 rather than continuing to update the full Quicken product for Mac. But with Apple's discontinuation of Rosetta in OS X Lion, applications such as Quicken 2007 that had been written for PowerPC-based Macs are incompatible with the latest operating system.

As quietly noted its Quicken for Lion FAQ updated today, the software is now available directly from Intuit. Priced at $14.99, Lion-compatible Quicken 2007 for Mac is available either by direct download or on CD.

Quicken 2007 For Mac Download

Quicken Mac 2005 – 2007 data files will automatically convert into the Lion compatible version. If you're currently running Quicken Essentials for Mac on OS X 10.7 Lion, and have previously converted from Quicken 2005, 2006 or 2007 for Mac, you'll be able to migrate your Quicken Essentials transaction data to Quicken Mac 2007 OS X Lion compatible.

Migration of Quicken Essentials data into the Lion-compatible version Quicken 2007 for Mac is outlined in a support document.

Intuit's lack of support for the Quicken for Mac product line has sent customers searching for alternatives, with a number of other products such as iBank and Intuit's own Mint.com seeing some success in the market, although each of the products offers a slightly different set of features.

Intuit is clearly trying to keep some of its Quicken for Mac customers using the software under Lion, but it is unclear whether the company has a long-term plan to advance a Quicken product for Mac that offers features beyond those found in Quicken Essentials. Given that even the Quicken 2007 for Mac page recommends that new Quicken users opt for Quicken Essentials, it appears that the company is still planning to push the stripped-down Essentials package as its primary Mac offering for at least the time being.

Thanks, Marck!

Quicken For Mac 2007 Download Lion Compatible Download Mode

edited August 2019 in Before you Buy
I've been using Quicken 2007 for many years and have been quite happy with it. I'm still not sure that I will upgrade - I may not install Catalina just to keep from having to upgrade Quicken. But, I do have some questions that will help me to decide how I proceed:
- In the newest version, Is using web data mandatory or can I keep everything as it is now, with the data only on my computer?
- Do I have to buy a 'membership' or 'subscription' or is it possible to just buy a stand-alone full-function copy like I've always done in the past? I don't need or want it on my phone, tablet or other mobile device. I want it only on my MacBook Pro laptop.
- I do not download transactions from my bank for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is that the data comes in a format and way that causes me to take twice as long to update my data and reconcile my statements. It's far, far faster for me to add by hand especially since it gives me the opportunity to verify that the amount that went through the bank (like for instance when I use a debit card) is the same amount on my receipt and that there are no transactions that I did not authorize. I've heard that downloading from the bank is now mandatory unless I take additional steps which includes deleting the old 'account' registers and creating new ones. What's the real story here? Can I continue to use Quicken as I always have, entering the data manually?
- I recall looking into upgrading a year or so ago, and one of the things that kept me from upgrading then are some annoyances with the newer versions of Quicken that the company had displayed absolutely no indication that they were going to fix. One of the biggest was that Quicken was asking for the iCloud password every time you opened Quicken, even if you were not using the cloud to store any data, didn't enter any iCloud account information, and had turned off the iCloud feature. There was no way to turn stop Quicken from asking for the iCloud account information every time Quicken was started, and the company did not indicate that they had any intention of fixing this. Is this still the case? Do annoyances like this still persist?
DO NOT TELL ME TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE NEWEST VERSION TO SEE FOR MYSELF AND REMIND ME THAT THERE IS A MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. I want specific answers to my questions from people 'in the know'.
Thank you.

Given that you are using a MacBook Pro, I will assume you are using QMac and not QWin in a VM.
Quicken subscription can be used just like the old versions; just turn off the auto-renewal in your Quicken.com account after you purchase.
One thing to note is that once your subscription membership expires, Quicken does use about 25% of your main screen for advertisement. You can avoid that by resizing some of that section off your screen or opening up other windows over top.
Quicken is STILL a desktop-based software. There is NO obligation to use any of the online functionality. Just simply do not turn on those features; same goes for downloading data.
The only thing that is needed is you need internet access to first register your Quicken data file. Then Quicken will periodically call home to verify your registration. Beyond that, there is no need to use any online functionality.
All that said, I suggest that you make sure that the subscription for Quicken for Mac will meet your needs, since it is not an upgrade from QM2007 but rather from Quicken Essentials (which was re-written from the ground up, starting in 2010, then continued with QM2015 onward), so there are some features that are still not there e.g. full loan amortization*, 2-line display, QuickMath, or are not as fully developed yet, e.g. Customized Reports, performance reports and stats (therefore some data may not carry over). You can start here:
    https://www.quicken.com/mac/upgrader-compare
*NOTE: Support for fixed rate loans has been released as of QM2017 v4.5.x but there is no announced timing for support for variable rate or simple daily interest loans, nor the built-in ability to track you as a lender.
Currently, the main advantages of subscription to Quicken for Mac over QM2007 include the ability to sync cash, bank, and credit card accounts using Quicken Mobile for mobile devices (iOS and Android) and the ability to save receipts with transactions via computer or mobile device. There are a few other minor features that QM2007 does not have. Note that online access is supposed to continue as long as the FI/Bank supports it and their security updates don't prevent it.
Please note that Quicken for Mac is now a subscription-based product currently available for 1 year directly from Quicken or 2 yrs from retailers (which are often cheaper than Quicken). (If you are able to find QM2017 which is a pre-subscription product, it is supported until April 2020), whereas currently QM2007 will continue to work as long as your FIs/Banks support it, so keep that in mind.

Note that there are many differences that are rather subtle, that are not necessarily identifiable via documentation, for example, the 12-month budget feature does not allow including transfers, including investment income, selecting specific accounts, etc.

    * If you still want to QM2007 built-in automatic backups, BOTH the data file AND the backups must be located on a HFS+ (Mac OS Extended) drive or partition, not the new APFS drive format that is used by macOS 10.13 (High Sierra; SSDs only) and 10.14 (Mojave; all drives).

So either you do not upgrade macOS to Catalina or if you need/want to, you can try running QM2007 in a VM (Virtual Machine). This is not for everyone. But if you do venture there, a free one is Oracle VirtualBox, or a few commercial ones include VMWare Fusion and Parallels.
